My first tablescape

This is my first tablescape Thursday.  It snowed the night before these were taken.  This is a little vignette outside my front door.  I was hosting a birthday brunch for a friend last Sunday and  set my table up with my Grandmothers Blue Willow china.  I realized a few things could have been improved on after I uploaded these photos so please excuse the amateuristic photos.

Table is set for six with Blue Willow china and my blue Pier One Imports chargers.

I collected a few more pieces of silver mercury glass over the Christmas season.  I had a few paperwhite blooms that were still looking fresh when I tossed the rest of them so I put them in a vase.

I made the place cards on the computer and the holders are actually corn cob holders.  Sorry I realize I should have taken more closeups.

After uploading I realized a few things.  I should have added my wine and water glasses for a more finished look and some better close up shots would have been nice.

Thanks for viewing my first tablescape. Barkie

  1. I think you did a great job for your first Tablescape Thursday. Your grandmother's Blue Willow China is certainly a treasure and is put to excellent use here. I love the candlesticks and that darling little silver bird at center table. Lovely!

  2. What a beautiful table! I love blue and white and also anything chinoiserie in those colors, and this is just stunning. The perfect way to spend a winter day at such a lovely table.

  4. You are too cute! The photos are great and if you hadn't said anything, we wouldn't have noticed anything. I have learned a lot since starting in May. It is fun looking back at my first tablescapes. I love the learning curve and finding what works and what I like. You will too. Now, I go back and remove pictures I don't like or maybe take a new one. I never would have done that at the beginning.

No need to apologize, you did a great job and it is really beautiful. I loved the snowy vignette and the color of blue is outstanding. Those blue chargers are incredible with the plates and your centerpiece is really well put together! Keep coming back!
